Abstract

The growing awareness about the importance of oral health has changed the patients’ requirements and demands in the 21st century. Treatment options have taken a drift from generalized to specialized treatments both in Medicine and Dentistry fields. Patients look for the options of specialist services. Nowadays Patients always prefer specialist for the treatment as compared to general Dental practitioners. Once we produce postgraduate specialists, then we can improve the quality of services in our hospitals and clinics.
Dental Institutes, mostly emphasize on undergraduate courses and education. Institutions are not keen to improve and develop post-graduation education rather mainly focus on the development, of undergraduate courses. As a result, most of the dental institutions are deficient in Postgraduate faculty members. By encouraging and providing as many as chances of Postgraduate education in the Dental Institutions, we can fulfill the requirements of the patients as well as of the teaching faculty of newly developing Dental Institution in the Country. Therefore, Dental teaching institutions should mainly focus on Postgraduate Education in the country.
