About the journal

Aims & Objectives

Journal of Khyber College of Dentistry (JKCD) aims to be the leading publication in its field and provides a forum for the exchange of information about the new and significant research in dentistry in Pakistan and throughout the world. It also aims to motivate the conduct and publication of original research in oral health sciences in Pakistan, to provide a source of continuing dental education, and to circulate such information in Pakistan and other parts of the world. JKCD maintains rigorous standards of peer review and editorial excellence to ensure the quality and integrity of published content across all accepted disciplines.

Focus & Scope

JKCD welcomes high-quality scholarly contributions that advance knowledge and practice across the full spectrum of oral and dental sciences. The journal publishes original research articles, systematic reviews, case reports, and short communications, with a focus on clinical relevance, scientific rigor, and interdisciplinary value.
JKCD encourages submissions that enhance patient care, support evidence-based dentistry, and contribute to improved public oral health.

Primary areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Diagnosis, prevention, and management of oral and craniofacial diseases
  • Innovations in dental materials, technologies, and clinical techniques
  • Integration of fundamental biomedical sciences with clinical dentistry
  • Oral health promotion, epidemiology, public health strategies, and healthcare delivery models
  • Dental education, ethics, policy, and professional development

The journal is committed to fostering research that drives innovation, supports clinical excellence, and strengthens the global oral health community.

Article Processing Charges (APC)

A non-refundable processing fee of PKR 4,000 (USD 47) is required at the time of submission for all original manuscripts, for both national and international authors, and for both regular and fast-track submissions.
Exemptions:
Case reports, review articles, letters to the editor, and invited/guest editorials are exempt from the submission processing fee.

Article Publication Charges (Post-Acceptance)

Upon acceptance, the following publication charges apply:

  • Regular Track: PKR 15,000 (USD 53)
  • Fast-Track Publication: PKR 26,000 (USD 90)

Waiver of APC: JKCD offers a partial fees waiver on a case-by-case basis for undergraduate students of Pakistan as well as authors from low and middle-income countries (WHO-HINARI Group-A Countries list. Eligible authors may contact "managingeditor@journalofkcd.com" for waiver of article processing and publication charges.
