Peer Review Policy
The Journal of Khyber College of Dentistry (JKCD) employs a rigorous "triage approach" to its review process. Upon submission of a manuscript, the Editorial Team conducts an initial open (unblinded) review. Based on this review, the manuscript will either be accepted for further evaluation, returned to the authors with requests for revision, or rejected, with explicit reasons provided for the decision.
Following this preliminary stage, the peer review process proceeds with a double-blind approach. The manuscript is sent to two expert reviewers, one local and one international, who are registered on the JKCD website. Throughout this process, the confidentiality of both authors and reviewers is strictly upheld. While authors may suggest potential reviewers, all recommended reviewers will undergo a comprehensive evaluation to assess their qualifications and any potential conflicts of interest before they are invited to participate in the review.
The editorial board reserves the right to retract any article if substantial concerns regarding its research integrity or quality are identified, either prior to publication or after acceptance. This right extends to instances where post-publication issues regarding the article's credibility arise. (For further details, please refer to the "Correction and Retraction of Articles" section.)
